As a writer it seems I am constantly at a crossroads of what to write about. I often feel that a roulette wheel with different subjects would benefit more than my own thought process. I find myself jumping from personal experiences to writing-related tips and everything in between. Many of the posts I create have a motivational type of feel to them. That’s not by accident. Writers and artists in general I think have a very solitary way of living and at times we all need that extra push. I can only hope when others read certain pieces I write, they sit back and say, ‘hey someone out there gets me.’ Although our craft is shared with the world, it is most times created within ourselves, by ourselves. That doesn’t mean I feel writers and artists are lonely. In fact, I myself have countless muses. I write from my own experiences, wants, and wishes. But I also pull those experiences from friends and family and even strangers I meet. Each one of us holds a story – usually many stories that need to be told.
I am fortunate enough to have two books published of my poetry and prose which I am ever grateful to so many for giving my words a voice. I will always share my writing with those that wish to enjoy it. These days I find myself wanting to reach more than just readers. I want to connect with other writers as well; to contribute my knowledge and inspire them to follow their dreams. I have always had a need to share and help others grow and at the same time continue to enhance my own understanding of different genres or formats. I feel a true motivator and mentor should learn as much from the experience as those seeking guidance. I will contribute what I can, in hopes to make someone else’s journey a bit smoother.
I won’t ever abandon the written word; I love it. I will only be adding to my portfolio. My ideas are many and the messages I want to share have a wide range of topics. If my words are stumbled upon and become motivation or inspiration for other would-be, current or aspiring writers, then I have contributed to the beauty of the craft.
